Beth by PleasePray — SMS Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in the Beth by PleasePray SMS and MMS messaging program (the "Program"), operated by PleasePray, Inc. (doing business as PleasePray; legal entity Deo Duce Ventures Inc., a Delaware corporation) ("PleasePray," "we," "us," or "our"). By opting in to the Program, you agree to these Terms.
1. Program Name
Beth by PleasePray (also referred to as "Beth" or "the Program").
2. Program Description
Beth is an AI prayer assistant operated by PleasePray. When you opt in, Beth sends and receives SMS and MMS messages to help you:
- Create a Catholic prayer intention ("prayer crusade") in a few text messages, including selecting a saint as intercessor and adding an optional photo.
- Receive prayer milestone notifications, including streak updates and prayer-count milestones for intentions you have created or joined.
- Respond to campaign lifecycle check-ins at approximately 30, 60, and 90 days after you create a crusade so Beth can note whether your intention has been granted, is continuing, or needs consolation.
- Share testimonies of answered prayer, if you choose.
The Program is conversational: Beth only replies when you initiate a message or when you reach a prayer milestone you have previously opted in to receive notifications about. The Program does not handle donations, payments, or fundraising over SMS.
3. Message Frequency
You will receive up to 4 messages per month from Beth as part of the standard Program cadence (prayer milestones, lifecycle check-ins, and answered-prayer notifications). You may receive additional messages in direct reply to messages you send Beth; replies to your inbound messages are not counted toward the monthly cadence. Message frequency may vary depending on your activity.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. PleasePray does not charge you to send or receive Beth messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for SMS or MMS according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure of your rates. PleasePray is not responsible for carrier charges.
5. Supported Carriers
The Program is available to subscribers of major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to carrier coverage, device capability, and network availability.
6. How to Opt In
You can opt in to the Program by:
- Providing your mobile number on the PleasePray website (pleasepray.app) after creating a prayer campaign and checking the consent box, or
- Texting the keyword HI (or a similar greeting) to Beth's published phone number, +1 (772) 946-1131, after you have been invited to do so by PleasePray.
At opt-in, you expressly consent to receive automated SMS and MMS messages from Beth at the mobile number you provide. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. We record the date, time, method, and consent language for each opt-in and retain this record for at least five (5) years.
7. How to Opt Out — Reply STOP
You can cancel the Program at any time by replying STOP to any Beth message at +1 (772) 946-1131.
You may also reply UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT — any of these will stop the Program.
After you send the STOP keyword, we will send you one confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out, and you will not receive further messages from the Program unless you opt in again. Your number will be added to our suppression list.
8. How to Get Help — Reply HELP
For help at any time, reply HELP to any Beth message at +1 (772) 946-1131. Beth will reply with a short description of the Program, instructions to opt out, and contact information for support.

9. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and the authorized account holder or primary user of the mobile device associated with the number you provide, to opt in to the Program. By opting in, you represent that you meet these requirements.
10. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information when you opt in, including a mobile number you are authorized to use.
- Notify PleasePray promptly if your mobile number changes or is reassigned.
- Use Beth for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes consistent with the Catholic, prayer-first mission of PleasePray.
You agree not to:
- Use Beth to harass, threaten, defraud, or harm any person.
- Submit content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or that infringes another person's rights.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Program.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Program if we believe you have violated these Terms.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Program is also governed by our SMS Privacy Policy. In summary: we collect your mobile number and message content to operate the Program; we do not sell your personal information and do not share it with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes; we retain opt-in and opt-out records as required by law.
12. Beth Is Not a Substitute for Professional Advice
Beth is an AI assistant intended to support prayer and Catholic community life. Beth does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or clergy advice. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, call 911 (in the U.S.) or your local emergency number. For spiritual direction or sacramental matters, consult a priest or qualified pastoral minister.
13. Disclaimers
The Program is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. PleasePray makes no warranties, express or implied, about the Program, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that messages will be delivered on time or at all, that Beth's replies will be error-free, or that the Program will be uninterrupted or secure.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PleasePray and its officers, directors, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Program, including carrier fees, lost data, or lost opportunity, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising from or related to the Program will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
15. Changes to the Program or These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or terminate the Program, or update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will post the updated version at pleasepray.app/sms-terms, update the "Last Updated" date, and send a notice to active Program participants before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Program after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from the Program will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you rights in your home jurisdiction.
